Family life is hard on carpet. Muddy shoes, spilt drinks, pets, and a lot of back-and-forth to the kettle. The Brooklyn is a dense 50oz polypropylene carpet made for exactly that. It’s a heavier version of the popular Brooklyn range, so it feels more substantial underfoot and is built to keep its look year after year.
It’s also easy to live with. The yarn is bleach cleanable, so if something stubborn lands on it you’ve got a stronger option than a damp cloth. Brooklyn comes with a 20-year stain warranty and a 20-year wear warranty (terms apply), which is a lot of confidence behind a carpet at this price.
Why people choose the Brooklyn
- It handles spills. The yarn is stain resistant and bleach cleanable, so accidents are a clean-up job rather than a disaster.
- It’s warm underfoot. A TOG value of 1.6 helps keep rooms cosy, and the carpet is suitable for underfloor heating.
- It’s built to last. The 50oz pile weight means plenty of yarn per square metre, which helps the carpet resist flattening in busy spots.
- Less waste, lower cost. 4m and 5m widths let us pick the one that suits your room, so you buy less offcut.
- It’s easy to match. Sixteen colours, from soft neutrals to deeper greys and warm browns, make it simple to find a shade that works with your walls and furniture.
Where it works best
Brooklyn suits everyday living spaces: living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and landings. If you’re covering a high-traffic room or a rental property, ask us and we’ll check it’s the right grade for the job.
Using Brooklyn with underfloor heating
Brooklyn has a TOG of 1.6 on its own. Most underfloor heating guidance recommends keeping the carpet and underlay combined at about 2.5 TOG or under, so choose your underlay with that in mind. Check the limit with your heating installer, or ask us and we’ll help you pick the right underlay.

Brooklyn carpet FAQs
What does 50oz mean on a carpet?
It’s the weight of the pile yarn per square yard. 50oz is about 1,690 grams per square metre. A higher number means more yarn, so the carpet feels denser and tends to wear better.
Is the Brooklyn carpet suitable for underfloor heating?
Yes. It has a TOG value of 1.6. Keep your total carpet plus underlay TOG within your underfloor heating system’s limit, usually about 2.5. Check with your installer.
Can I really use bleach on it?
Brooklyn is bleach cleanable, which means the colour won’t be damaged by diluted bleach-based cleaning. Always follow the care instructions and test a hidden patch first.
What warranty comes with Brooklyn?
It has a 20-year stain warranty and a 20-year wear warranty, subject to terms. See our Warranty page for details.
What widths does it come in?
4m and 5m. We’ll advise which suits your room best to cut down on waste.
How thick is the Brooklyn carpet?
The pile height is 7.5mm and the total thickness is 8.5mm.
Do you offer free samples?
Yes, free samples are available for our carpets, so you can see the colour in your own light. Message us or use the contact page.
Do you fit carpets in Kent?
Yes. We offer free measuring and professional fitting in Folkestone, Hythe and across Kent.
Do I need underlay?
Yes. A good underlay makes the carpet feel more comfortable and helps it last. We’ll recommend one for your room, and one that suits underfloor heating if you have it.
